Message from our Chairman
Few things have greater importance to parents than the education of their children. Every parent looks for academic excellence, good values, and discipline for their children. Choosing the right school for them is therefore a crucial decision.
NPS provides high standards for educational excellence to their students. We stimulate creativity and develop problem-solving capability in each student. As a family oriented school, we believe that partnership between the family and school is the foundation of a student’s fulfillment and success in later life.

Message from our Dean
Education has a multifaceted function. The transformation from childhood to adulthood is an important one. Education has a major role to play in this process.
In Swami Vivekananda’s words, “Education is not the amount of information that is put in to your brain and runs riot there, undigested all your life. We want that education, by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, intellect is expanded and by which we can stand on one’s own feet.”
In addition to acquisition of knowledge, education should aim at physical, mental and spiritual development. There should be opportunity for character formation and personality development.
The training one gets from schools and colleges should include academic excellence – professional, scientific and technological – attainment of life skills and vocational efficiency. The training should also help to manifest innate potentialities making use of opportunities and staying alert.
Progress of a country depends on its education system. In this era of globalization it is necessary to understand economic, social and political aspects of all the countries. Practicing brotherhood, love and compassion between different communities, races and nations is of utmost importance. The emphasis on developing patriotism and pride in one’s culture is indispensable.
Daniel Webster put it rightly “Knowledge does not comprise all which is contained in the large term of education. The feelings are to be disciplined, the passions are to be restrained; true and worthy motives are to be inspired, a profound religious feeling is to be instilled and pure morality inculcated under all circumstances. All this is comprised in education.”
Education in its true sense leads to health and fitness, happy relationships, meaningful work and personal fulfilment.

Mr. Vikram Viswanath is a successful entrepreneur with technological competence and experience in the logistics & infrastructure industry for more than two decades, and was the chairman and managing director of Vikram Logistics Pvt Ltd. Director on the Board of Directors of Infrastructure India Plc. (IIP), an Infrastructure Fund set up by the Guggenheim Group and listed on the AIM section of London Stock Exchange, dedicated to investing in the Infrastructure, Energy and Logistics sector in India. He is a Post Graduate in International and Strategic Management from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota, USA.Mr. Viswanath is the Honorary Consul for Peru at Bangalore. Peru is among the top five nations having rich resources of metals, minerals and mining potential besides being a leading tourism destination. He is the driving force behind various initiatives taken to strengthen the commercial, tourism and cultural relationships between Peru and Bangalore.
He is actively involved in various social and charitable activities and as a Trustee in EPI TRUST, a non-profit organization serving the welfare of epilepsy patients worldwide. He represents the NGO Dharti which is working in the front of environment, forests, communities, and tourism as a director in the Governing body of Karnataka Ecotourism Development Board.
Mr. Viswanath is a keen follower of the fine arts and cultural activities. He is the Advisory Board Member of Bangalore International Arts Festival, which hosts regular forums for encouraging art and cultural performances. The Annual Bangalore International Arts Festival is a much awaited event in Bangalore City and brings together the best talents in the field of Arts and Culture worldwide.

Knowledge and empowerment are the two sides of the same coin-Education.
Education is not solely a process of generating and acquiring information but a profound journey of internalizing knowledge through an internal dialogue which necessarily should unfollow the didactic path.
The journey of education when facilitated in an environment that enables the learner to understand and comprehend the concepts, principles, and ideas, through enriching and value-adding experiences, ultimately equips students to think critically and creatively. This robust internalization of knowledge forms the foundation upon which individuals build their abilities to navigate the complexities of the world.
While acquiring knowledge is quintessential, the true purpose of education extends far beyond the realms that can even be fathomed. Message from Director Principal
The words of Rabindranath Tagore – “The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence”, cannot be more relevant than in the present times.
The need of the hour is to empower young students to successfully navigate the global, systemic challenges ahead, by showing the complexity of the world they inhabit, and encouraging them to take responsibility for shaping their future.
As an educationist, I envisage that we need to re-imagine new ways of learning, inspire new paths of action, and nurture new initiatives. At NPS, education is experienced in the 21st century by inspiring students to discover that they are far more capable than their believe, to discover their passion in life and to explore what it means to live from a strong sense of vocation.
While promoting academic excellence through the plethora of programs, activities, and assessments – preparing, and enhancing the skills of every student is the core of our precepts. The prerogative is to enable our students to be contributing members of the community, instilled with principles and values.
Each student is looked upon as an individual and we believe in celebrating this diversity in our classrooms with the firm belief that “Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself.”

Message from Academic Dean
Mrs. Charulatha Prakaash holds a triple Master’s Degree in English and Public Administration from the University of Madras and in Education from the ICFAI.
With a professional career spanning two decades and more, she is passionate about enhancing the quality of the teaching-learning process by incorporating best practices in academics from across the globe. Commencing her career as a teacher of History, heading the Social Sciences dept., she helped students ace the board exams with ease.
An ardent enthusiast of the English language, spearheading the Dept. of English in the National Centre for Excellence, Bengaluru, she engaged the teachers and students in pursuing theatre and drama in refining their language and communication skills. She has taught the Senior and Secondary school students for more than a decade, driving them to achievements in their exams.
With a stint in Vidyagyan Leadership Academy, a CSR venture of HCL in the hinterlands of Uttar Pradesh, enabled her come face to face with the challenges of teaching English to rural students; preparing them to face the SAT and clear the College Board Exams, she feels is a landmark in her career. Pursuing her career in tier II cities of India, she was the founder Principal of a residential school in Davangere, the Knowledge Capital of Karnataka, leading the school in honing and shaping the all-round development of the faculties of the students.
She believes that honesty, integrity, empathy are the values that shape a good citizen, these should be inculcated in the students along with socio-emotional skills that play a great role in shaping their future personalities.
Here, at NPS ITPL, as the Dean -Academics, her extent knowledge and experience will contribute in carrying forward the sixty-year- old legacy of our esteemed Chairman.

Mrs. Elsie Thomas has served as the Head of National Public School’s TISB Teacher Training Academy-TTA for over 14 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience as a prominent teacher trainer. Under her guidance, NPS ITPL and NORTH have significantly enhanced pedagogical expertise, professional and curriculum development along with the professional and personal development of the teachers.
